Support for the Conservation and Sustainable Management of Skadar Lake Basin Ecosystems

The “Support for the Conservation and Sustainable Management of Skadar Lake Basin Ecosystems” project commenced in May 2026.

The project’s main objective is to safeguard peatlands and freshwater ecosystems of the Skadar Lake basin through nature-based solutions, invasive species management, and participatory governance models, ensuring tangible conservation outcomes and benefits for local communities.

The project is implemented in partnership with Environment Programme (EnvPro).

The project is supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation under the Donors Initiative for Mediterranean Freshwater Ecosystems – DIMFE.
