Boosting GHG Sequestration Capacities of the Dinaric Karst Peatlands
The “Boosting GHG Sequestration Capacities of the Dinaric Karst Peatlands” project commenced in December 2023.
The project’s main objective is to establish cross-sectoral cooperation by bringing together a wide range of stakeholders – from local communities and public institutions to the business sector – to identify sustainable and climate-positive mechanisms for the long-term conservation of peatlands in the Dinaric Karst and to strengthen climate resilience. The project focuses on the conservation of peatlands of the Skadar Lake in Montenegro and Livanjsko Polje in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project is implemented in partnership with the NGO Dinarica.
The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) through the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) program.
